Memorial Day weekend started off with a dirt and worm cake to celebrate Randy’s birthday. The kids loved the idea of eating dirt and worms and it was delicious. Then on Memorial Day, to continue a Balmforth tradition Randy and Drew ran in a 1 mile race and I ran a 5K on Grosse Ile. Drew and I both beat our times from last year. It is always a good feeling to be improving! We also went swimming at our friends pool and picked strawberries from our garden. And yesterday the kids and I discovered this robin nest in the tree in our front yard. Drew wanted me to get the eggs down so he could looked at them. I told him that was not a good idea. In the second picture of the nest you can see the birds used a Ziploc bag when they created the nest. Very resourceful!

Drew’s 6th Birthday
Our big boy turned six last week. He is growing up so fast and adds so much life and laughter to our home. He is definitely drama man but it wouldn’t be Drew if he wasn’t. Here are a few pictures to celebrate the day.

Springtime
In March Grandma and Papa came to visit. It was so much fun. Mom helped me with several little projects around the house I just hadn’t been able to get around to. And Dad’s humor always keeps us smiling.
My two cutest girls. I am so blessed to have them.
Kisses for Daddy
Playing on the trampoline together.
Kisses anyone?
Anna and her friends relaxing in the sun.
Ryleigh and I at the Detroit Temple. It was her first time doing baptisms and she was just baptized 5 days before this trip. So amazing. Love this girl!

Let it Snow
It snowed 6 inches of wet snow last night so with school being cancelled and Randy working nights this week they couldn’t resist building a snowman together. Liesel kept banging on the window saying “daddy, daddy” So I got her dressed up and let her go out and join the fun.
Drew celebrated his 100th day of school and being 100 days smarter.
Sisters singing primary songs together
Being the youngest, Liesel has to be able to take a lot of stuff from Anna and Drew. She is definitely tough because of it. One day I found her buried alive in toys while swinging and Drew was laughing so hard he couldn’t even talk. What goofballs!
